JIA, MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
Located in the vibrant South of Fifth neighborhood in Miami Beach, Jia is a Chinese dinner supper club that seamlessly blends traditional Cantonese influences with rustic, contemporary design. The interior reflects the rich, earthy textures of Cantonese cuisine, while incorporating modern touches to create an inviting and dynamic atmosphere.
To evoke the rustic charm of traditional dining, Casa Conde used reclaimed wood screens to subtly separate spaces while allowing the room to remain open and interconnected. Natural materials are emphasized throughout the design, with light fixtures crafted from natural fibers, creating a warm, ambient glow. The center banquette, featuring intricate canning details, and solid walnut table tops add a sense of handcrafted luxury, providing a tactile experience that connects guests to the artistry of the space.
The bar, with its distressed green cypress siding, and walls adorned with raffia wallpaper and custom tattoo-like graphics designed by famed tattoo artist Ami James, amd painted by him on site add a unique, artistic edge that enhances the supper club’s eclectic personality. In contrast to the natural and rustic elements, vibrant velvets are used throughout, adding a rich pop of color, while Schumacher’s stunning dragon wallpaper makes a dramatic statement, honoring the traditional roots of Cantonese culture.
The artwork, carefully handpicked from thrift and antique stores throughout Miami, completes the design, infusing the space with character and history, making each corner of Jia a visual journey. This thoughtfully curated interior invites guests to experience a fusion of culture, craftsmanship, and creativity, offering an unforgettable atmosphere for dining and socializing.
